I Love a Parade!

\

We took Luke to our town festival. Our plan was to take him to see the parade, followed by a petting zoo. We were lucky- the parade route ran very close to our house, and Luke sat very well in his stroller through the whole thing. He especially loved the bagpipes and the Shriner's organ. By the time we loaded up again to go to the center of town where the petting zoo was, HUNDREDS of kids had descended on one small tent. We looked at the shoving match and thought-- "Not with this stroller". Maybe next year?
The thing that amazed us is exactly how much candy Luke got. By the time the parade was done, he had quite the pile of loot! At 9 months old! They would throw it in his direction, or just walk up to his stroller and drop it in! We tried our best to keep the pile down (daddy was happy to help out with that!), but when we realized our stomachs couldn't keep up and we tried to find enough pockets to carry it home, we were running out of room. Who knew that a 9 month old would need a bucket to get crazy amounts of candy home!
