May

May was an extremely busy month for us! We took the time to explore the hiking trails nearby:
We also got to visit a lot with family this month. Luke especially enjoyed his cousin's sandbox and of course, the swing. We even took a weekend to visit grandma and grandpa at their house over Memorial Weekend. Luke loved chasing Auntie Joni down the hill in the backyard, as well as spending time with everyone.

Luke is now a happy 19 month old, and is surprising us every day with new words and abilities. He now says "pizza" "motorcycle" "go" and "wait", among other things. He also shocked us the other day when he poured milk from one cup to the other without spilling a drop! Overall, Luke loves to be outside, throwing rocks in the lake or sliding on the slide. We have been taking him outside as much as possible, which makes unpacking a little tough, but we would rather it be that way than not!

Settlin'

Well, it's been 2 months since we made the move to our new house, and we are settling in. It took awhile to get unpacked and to make it feel like home, but we are finally back into a routine.
We had a feeling that when we moved in that the neighborhood would be a good fit for us, but we had no idea exactly how good..... a few days after we moved in, we got a knock on our door and were presented with....A WELCOME BASKET!!!
A Welcome Basket with homemade soup, bread, cookies, and a candle. You always hear of that happening, but it was sooooo nice to actually experience! Our new new neighbors are almost all older with grown children, but so helpful and happy to welcome a 1 year old to the neighborhood (thank goodness!). We have already had offers for babysitters! We have also appreciated being so close to work and our interests, and have been exploring everything our neighborhood has to offer. It's been so nice to have parks so close to us, and we've been out biking and hiking a lot lately....
